This track I coproduced with Zeoy won a funk-themed contest on KVR Audio back in April 08. I like it a lot, although it perhaps more soul than funk.

The previews are a bit short, will upload longer ones in the next few days.

World/soundtrack: “Spontaneous Generation”
•April 5, 2009 • Leave a CommentOver at KVR some friends unearthed a thread I started about a year ago about a tune of mine I called Spontaneous Generation. I kind of like it even if I never really finished it. Hope you enjoy it.

•February 25, 2009 • Leave a CommentA short retro vgame theme I composed to show what I can do for video games soundtracks. It is licenseable and expandable.
Vietnamese New Year show
•February 18, 2009 • Leave a CommentThe Vietnamese New Year show (Tet 09, in short) for which I scored the music was performed again in Bourg la Reine, a town South of Paris, and there’s a bunch of great photos here.
Here’s one for instance:

Kim is a talented juggler. I wrote a track for his juggling sequence.

My music played at UNESCO headquarters
•February 2, 2009 • Leave a CommentLast Saturday the Vietnamese community in Paris celebrated the New Year (Buffalo this year) with music, dance and general revelry, at the UNESCO headquarters here in Paris.
Like last year I was lucky enough to make music for a part of the program, a dance show that told the story of a Vietnamese village confronted with flooding. This part of the show lasted 14 minutes and I composed and recorded four tracks. I’ll soon post some extracts as well as photos and/or videos when they surface.
It is actually still a work in progress and the final version will last 30 minutes and be presented in 2010 at the Huê summer arts festival. Last summer already the dancers went to Huê and presented a show for which I had written music in collaboration with my friend Nodey.
Stay tuned for extracts and pictures!
Electro/ experimental: “Kish”
•December 23, 2008 • Leave a CommentI did this track with the extremely talented producer Jazzyspoon.Kish – Jazzyspoon feat. Vim Cortez I’m looking forward to the right opportunity to do more music like this with Jazzyspoon.
I made a “video clip” of sorts with a Winamp vizualization only so I could post it on youtube. This song deserves a real video though!

Hip hop: “That’s Cool – Delario remix”
•December 23, 2008 • Leave a CommentI came second in a remix contest with this track. Guess the bass and drums could sound fatter. Might give it another go someday soon.
